Swiss Re Lake construction project: Custom security solutions for stringent requirements

The Swiss Re Lake construction project at Mythenquai in Zurich has been relying on custom security solutions since December 2020 to protect the perimeter, control accesses and optimise logistics processes. This important construction project establishes stringent requirements in terms of security and logistics, which we are meeting with success.

Centrally controlled security and logistics management 

The Swiss Re Lake project is a large construction site comprising several trades that must be comprehensively secured and efficiently coordinated. In addition to perimeter protection, the focus is on centrally controlled access control and the effective coordination of material deliveries. This involves preventing unauthorised access, complying with compliance requirements and ensuring seamless construction site logistics.

For this challenging project, we have implemented a comprehensive security solution that is tailored to the needs of the project:

• Perimeter protection and video security:
  Almost 20 cameras monitor the construction site and transmit data in real time to the Securitas Zurich operations centre, enabling an immediate response to security incidents. The SecuriSiteTec Tower also provides a comprehensive overview using video surveillance.
• Access control system:
  Fact (local access system) and WARP (management platform) efficiently manage the access and compliance of employees and companies. Fact controls access while WARP serves as a platform for online registration and document verification.
• Logistics management with DISPO:
  With DISPO the entire logistics and material delivery is centrally coordinated to prevent bottlenecks and optimise construction site processes.
• Mobile readers and identity checks:
  Mobile readers facilitate regular personnel checks and audits on the construction site itself. This ensures workers’ identities are verified and helps safeguard security at all times.
