Seamless security: when five security systems are perfectly intertwined
Anyone entering the new casino in Winterthur can sense immediately that this is where exclusive entertainment and state-of-the-art technology meet. But while the guests enjoy the game, an invisible yet highly efficient security system in the background ensures complete peace of mind – from day one.
Swiss Casinos operates first-class casinos throughout the country, with its name standing for reputable gambling and excellent standards. With the new location in Winterthur, the company is expanding its offering in German-speaking Switzerland. The new building offers guests an exclusive experience in which gaming tables, slot machines and catering areas flow seamlessly into one another.
An environment like this places enormous requirements on building security. Guests and staff must be protected, and processes must be monitored seamlessly. Securiton took care of all the security-related equipment for the site. The result is an architecture in which five state-of-the-art systems interact so seamlessly that the integrated protection that is essential in modern new buildings is ensured.
An arsenal of security technology
Securiton installed a tailor-made package to meet the stringent demands seen in gambling operations. The SecuriEye Expert video security system is at the heart of the monitoring concept: around 250 cameras keep an eye on every movement, while ten servers and various clients process this volume of data in real time around the clock.
This is complemented by the SecuriSafe Expert intrusion alarm system, which protects the building against unauthorised access. Numerous motion detectors and magnetic contacts ensure seamless detection here. Access control is also strictly regulated: the SecuriGate Expert system controls all badge readers and 85 interfaces, while the eight call stations in the intercom system ensure smooth communication to doors and barriers.
Everything under control with SecuriLink
How can so many complex systems be managed efficiently? The answer is SecuriLink UMS. This security management system bundles the information from all systems on a single platform. Every alarm, every video image and every access notification is brought together centrally.
The employees operate the system via a uniform and clear interface. This saves valuable time in critical situations and increases reliability in day-to-day casino operations. As the security staff are already familiar with the user interface from other casinos in the group, there was no need for time-consuming training. The team was fully operational from day one.
Opened on time despite tight schedule
The construction process demanded a lot from everyone involved. Delays in construction and several projects running at the same time meant a high degree of flexibility was required. To overcome these hurdles, the Securiton team worked closely with the customer. Instead of time-consuming bureaucracy, decisions were made via short official channels, which prevented things from coming to a standstill.
The security managers at the customer greatly appreciate this direct contact and emphasise the importance of having a reliable partner in stressful construction phases. Despite the construction hurdles, the casino in Winterthur opened exactly as planned in December 2025 – a great success for the entire construction team.
Trust as the foundation for new projects
The long-standing collaboration is paying off: Swiss Casinos benefits from having a single contact person for all security systems. This approach minimises sources of error and speeds up support during ongoing operations.
The next joint steps emphasise how well the strategy is working. Following the modernisation and expansion of the Swiss Casinos in Pfäffikon and St. Gallen last year, the next extension in Pfäffikon will follow this year. Swiss Casinos is also planning the modernisation and renovation of Swiss Casino Zurich in the near future.
