The Federal Office for Buildings and Logistics (FOBL) is responsible for providing real estate for the civilian federal administration. It manages and optimises the real estate portfolio with an eye on the long term and ensures the smooth operation and maintenance of the properties. The FOBL was charged with overseeing the installation of access control in all four buildings of an administrative complex in the heart of Bern.

Managing access rights for staff, visitors and residents is often a challenging task in sprawling building complexes with a variety of office and administrative units. Who is allowed to enter where, and how can this control be done efficiently across multiple buildings? This is where we come in with our solution – the innovative SecuriGate Expert access control system, with its seamless networking of several large buildings.

SecuriGate Expert adapts to requirements.

The FOBL found the answer to its complex challenge in the form of the SecuriGate Expert access control system, which is specially designed for large-scale premises. This high-performance system controls access reliably, efficiently and with the utmost precision – regardless of the size of the premises or the complexity of the security situation. A key role here is played by the software, which ensures that the access control system is available at all times, adapts flexibly to the needs of the customer, and functions flawlessly even during intensive use. 
 

The requirements of the FOBL provide a showcase for SecuriGate Expert’s versatility. Access control for four buildings was seamlessly networked, allowing users to pass through their specifically authorised access points – even across different buildings. Almost a hundred badge readers were installed and 1600 licences issued. Since then, the administrative units and federal offices in the four buildings have been interconnected in such a way that staff, customers and visitors have hitch-free access to their respective authorised areas.
