BäreTower
Safety above all: keeping Bern’s tallest residential high-rise safe with our comprehensive fire alarm system.
With its imposing height of 100.6 metres, Bern Cathedral has dominated the city skyline for centuries. But the end of 2022 saw the inauguration in Ostermundigen of the BäreTower – a residential tower whose height of 100 metres is perilously close to that of Bern’s long-standing landmark. The lean 32-storey building houses 152 apartments, restaurants and retail outlets, a hotel, plus office and service units in the lower section. A panoramic restaurant on the 9th floor completes the package. This slim, contemporary high-rise building features a sophisticated fire alarm system from Securiton that ensures optimum fire protection.
Protection on every level.
Insurer Helvetia Versicherungen commissioned us to install a comprehensive fire alarm system in the BäreTower. The SecuriFire fire alarm system we supplied is just the thing for large buildings of this nature. Three control panels monitor the 32-storey high-rise around the clock by analysing data sent by the numerous fire detectors installed. The system’s 640 advanced SecuriStar sensors detect all and any noticeable heat gain and smoke particles. In addition, 135 SecuriStar sensors combine the advantages of smoke and heat detection with audible alarm capability. Rounding off the Securiton fire alarm system in the BäreTower are numerous manual call points for manually raising the alarm.
