Advanced Fire Detection for 1,880 MW Energy Hub in Azerbaijan

24.09.2025

The “8 November” power plant in Mingachevir is a milestone project for Azerbaijan’s energy sector. Once fully completed, the facility will reach a capacity of 1,880 megawatts, making it the country’s largest power plant and a vital cornerstone of national energy security. Mingachevir itself is widely regarded as the energy capital of Azerbaijan and the entire South Caucasus.

Reconstruction of the thermal power plant began in 2018 and has progressed rapidly in recent years. Each stage of development adds significant capacity and reliability to the energy grid, ensuring long-term stability for millions of people.

Protecting such a critical facility requires the highest standards of safety. That’s why the site is equipped with a networked SecuriFire fire alarm system. The solution includes:

  • Aspirating smoke detectors for ultra-early fire detection,
  • Multi-criteria smoke and heat detectors for reliable and flexible protection across diverse environments,
  • A seamlessly networked system architecture for fast and effective response.

The entire system was delivered and professionally installed by Securiton’s trusted local partner KC&SS Security Systems. Together, they ensure that one of the most important energy hubs in the region is safeguarded against fire risks, securing not only infrastructure but also the future of Azerbaijan’s energy supply.
