Simex Trading AG was founded in Appenzell in 1990 with the aim of one day becoming a leading player in the global branded perfume and cosmetics business. Thanks to the growth of recent years, this has been achieved: today, the company is a global player with 250 employees worldwide and three sites in Switzerland and Singapore. The company occupies more than 10,000 square metres of office and warehouse space and is protected by our fire detection and security systems.

Wide-ranging security needs

Simex Trading AG manages and supplies globally sought-after brand perfumes as well as cosmetic and skin care products to wholesalers and retailers. Seasonal fluctuations are avoided thanks to an adequate inventory, and programme work ensures reliable and consistent deliveries. This value proposition calls for large premises and corresponding security solutions, which is why Simex relies on our extensive experience and expertise in holistic security solutions.

New access control system

The original access control system was replaced with our SecuriGate solution, which includes the software and some 30 readers and three controllers. SecuriGate is used at Simex across all its sites and responds to the customer-specific requirement of managing access rights as simply and straightforwardly as possible. The customer was particularly pleased that we were able to integrate SecuriGate into the existing IT infrastructure and hardware without incurring any additional costs.

Video security expansion

Simex was already a user of our video security system, and extended it to include cameras (controllable and fixed). The customer benefits from centralised access to the video security system via the workstation as well as mobile access via MobileClients, a convenient way of accessing the video system via smartphone or laptop.

Modernisation of fire and intrusion alarm systems

The new SecuriSafe 800 intrusion alarm system offers a number of benefits that help to improve security while simplifying operation. The intuitive touch operation enhances user-friendliness, which is especially important in emergencies or where a rapid response is of the essence. In addition, the integration of MobileControl enables flexible operation via an app, which offers employees greater freedom and efficiency.

In the course of the modernisation, nearly 140 detectors and a control panel were incorporated into the SecuriFire 3000 fire alarm system, while the former SecuriPro system was completely replaced. This switch brings with it the twin advantages of modularity and redundancy. The new system also offers seamless functionality through the warranty on maintenance and spare parts. This gives Simex Trading AG the confidence of knowing that its fire alarm system is permanently monitoring the premises and ready to respond in the event of an emergency.
